Name: Schuyler Fisk (images | Web site | Twitter)
Hometown: Born in Los Angeles, Calif., but largely raised in Charlottesville, Va., according to her Wikipedia profile. Her mother is, as stated, actress Sissy Spacek; her father is Jack Fisk, a Hollywood production designer and childhood friend of director David Lynch. Her parents met on the set of Terrence Malick's 1973 film Badlands, according to Wikipedia, and married in 1974. Fisk was later art director for Brian De Palma's Carrie, again featuring Spacek.
Best Known For: Schuyler's largely made her mark in recent years as a singer-songwriter with an increasing country influence that nods a bit to her mother's role as Loretta Lynn in Coal Miner's Daughter but is in reality probably more a result of growing up in the center of the commonwealth of Virginia.
So far, she's released two full-length albums and a couple of EPs, with a stray non-album single and a couple of songs on movie soundtracks here and there. "Paperweight," a duet with Joshua Radin, was featured first on the soundtrack of Zach Braff's The Last Kiss and later in the Nicholas Sparks adaptation Dear John.

Humble Beginnings: She began as a child actress, landing the lead in a school production of Annie in sixth grade, Wikipedia notes. Early film work was often a family affair, from her debut Daddy's Dyin' ... Who's Got the Will? (directed by her father), through appearances in a couple of her mother's films, before she landed a starring role in the 1995 The Baby-Sitters Club. Only her works as an adult are listed for sale below.
Not the Courteney Cox Factor, Except...: Schuyler has released enough music of her own to not be Courteney Cox, but she did appear in at least one music video by someone else before starting her own recording career. It was apparently a hit in 2000 ("Another Dumb Blonde" by Hoku), but one I don't recall ever hearing.
Why Ye Olde Podcaster Likes Her: She's a capable guitarist and has a strong voice. She writes her own music, which is a plus. And she's a cute redhead who seems very grounded. What more do you need to know?
