Name: Amanda Righetti (images | Web site | Twitter)
Hometown: Born in St. George, Utah, and raised in Overton, Nev., (about 60 miles from Las Vegas), according to her Wikipedia profile. She was the youngest of eight children, with six older sisters and an older brother, Wikipedia notes.
Best Known For: Fans of the often fun crime drama The Mentalist will know Amanda as Grace Van Pelt, special agent with the California Bureau of Investigation, a role she'll be continuing this fall in the series' fourth season. Before that, she had a recurring role on The OC over its first two seasons in addition to co-starring in a few other short-lived series.
On the big screen, she'll be seen in next summer's The Avengers, following a small role in this year's Captain America as SHIELD agent Sharon Carter, granddaughter of the hero's WWII love Peggy Carter (played by fellow crush Hayley Atwell, with whom there's a plausible similarity in look). She also starred in the recent Friday the 13th remake with fellow crush Danielle Panabaker.

Other television work includes a guest turn on CSI and starring roles in a few short-lived Fox series: North Shore, Reunion (along with fellow crush Chyler Leigh), and K-Ville (with Anthony Anderson and fellow crush Milena Govich).
Obligatory Edgy Stuff: She's been married since 2006 (when she was 23 or so) to writer and director Jordan Alan, who directed her in her first two IMDB credits ... when she was 11 to 13 years old, and has one of her first producer credits on one of his projects when she was about 14. Several, perhaps all, her production credits are on projects working with him.
(Of course, a 23-year-old and a roughly 39-year-old marrying -- a 16-year age difference -- is not such a big deal in Hollywood, and if she'd been 40 and he 56 at the time, not a news-maker anywhere else.)
Why Ye Olde Podcaster Likes Her: What are the odds of Ye Olde Podcaster appreciating a tall (five-foot-eight-and-a-half, though she seems to tower over co-star Robin Tunney, who's 5'4"), buxom brunette with the face of a goddess? Approaching 100 percent. Good thing she can act, too, so I can present this without any shame.
