Hometown: The Melbourne suburb Mount Eliza, in the Australian province of Victoria, according to her Wikipedia profile. She's of French ancestry, though, as you might guess by her name.
Best Known For: Genre television roles, mainly -- she played Claire on Lost throughout most of its run (disappearing for one season but returning later on) and recurred on Roswell as the alien Tess. Before that, she did multiple episodes of the syndicated Beastmaster TV series.

Film roles are varied, including The Perfect Game, the noir film Brick (which co-starred fellow crush Nora Zehetner), The Chameleon, the 2006 remake The Hills Have Eyes, and the gangster film Public Enemies.

Humble Beginnings: Emilie started studying ballet as a child and was accepted into the Australian Ballet School at 15. She also began her acting lessons in her home country, continuing on after she came to America; she scored the Roswell role a month after arriving here.
Obligatory Edgy Stuff: She has no problem with taking her clothes off in front of the camera. And, coincidentally, I have no problem with her taking her clothes off in front of the camera.
Why Ye Olde Podcaster Likes Her: She was cute enough on Roswell -- and then villain-sexy -- but the sex appeal went off the scales when Lost allowed her to speak with her natural Australian accent.

Additionally, her work on that series showed a wide range -- from the obligatory scared reaction of most people stranded on the island through shades of madness, love for her baby and for rock musician Charlie, even some badassery toward the end.
